“TU TU TEA” IS PLANNED AS A BENEFIT FOR PHILADANCO! BY ACCESS TO ART, INC. FOR SUNDAY, DEC. 16TH AT CONGRESS HALL

CAPE MAY. Christmas is a time for thoughts of the Nutcracker, a celebration of all things childlike, and a story of the birth of a baby who changed the world. It’s a period to celebrate children, hope, new birth, peace, and joy. A time for celebration. Put December l6th on your winter calendar as a day to share with your favorite little girl or boy who wants to be beguiled by ballerinas in tulle, Christmas tea sandwiches and hot chocolate,
Christmas stories and cookies decorated by Congress Hall elves.

“Once again Access to Art is bringing professional dance to the Cape May County area with Philadanco. I am very excited to support this effort by hosting another wonderful ballerina tea at Congress Hall on Dec. l6th.” said Lisa Di Bruno, event coordinator.

In that spirit, Access to Art, Inc. will present its second “Tu Tu Tea” a benefit tea to support the upcoming Spring presentation of Philadanco! by the not for profit on May l7th at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center. The “Tu Tu Tea” celebrates all things balletic and childlike, all the tales of Christmas, on December l6th at Congress Hall from 1-3 p.m. where a delicious tea will feature students and graduates from area dance schools who will perform at a Christmas dance event.

“We are delighted to have Lisa DiBruno, who did such a wonderful job at our Beatrix Potter Tea, put together our program for this event. Lisa serves on Access to Art’s Board of Directors, and also teaches at Dance Dynamics, creates dance events for St. Ann’s in Wildwood and is both a singer, dancer, disc jockey and stage presence. She’s very creative. She and Kelli Thompson chaired our Beatrix Potter Tea last Spring,” said Barbara Beitel, Access to Art, Inc. director. “Both Kelli Thompson and Maggi Strawley danced in the first “Tu Tu” Tea while they were in high school. They will return, with
Degrees in dance, from Towsend College, Md. And dance again. It’s good to see our local girls study, prosper and continue to improve on their native talents.” said Lisa DiBruno.

“Joanne Reagan will send some of her little ballerinas, Cygnus in Atlantic County will send some dancers, and New Motion studio in Somers Point will send a Nutcracker soloist to the event, Courtney Schumacher who dances with Ballet New Jersey in Voorhees, studies with Princeton Ballet and in New York.”
“We did this in 2002 at Congress Hall and it was a memorable event.” Beitel said. “We hope it will continue to be a momentous Christmas event for children, their parents, aunts, grandmothers, etc., an opportunity for the children to dress, learn something about manners at a tea at a wonderful historical ballroom, the Queen of hotels in Cape May, and enjoy the celebratory spirit of the dance with reflections of Christmas all around.” she said. Tickets for the tea are $25.
